It was essential to first comprehend the sources of our emissions thoroughly. This deep understanding was the key to informing our strategic decisions, guiding us toward achieving the most significant reductions in our carbon footprint.

We use a tool called Trace, a platform that empowers businesses to measure and offset confidently towards net zero emissions. Trace's breakdown of emission sources into four categories – Electricity, Employee Commute, Purchased Goods & Services, and Waste Generated – was instrumental for us.

Trace’s analysis revealed a pleasant surprise. The employee commute, often a significant emission source for many companies, was negligible for us. Our team's commitment to walking or working from home demonstrated their personal dedication to our environmental goals.

However, the most eye-opening discovery was in the category of Purchased Goods & Services, which accounted for nearly 70% of our emissions. This revelation was not a setback but an opportunity. It allowed us to focus our efforts where they could make the most difference. Understanding this major emission source has set us on a path to make more informed, environmentally friendly decisions in our purchasing.

We aspired to go beyond achieving carbon neutrality. In an ambitious move, we've offset 159% of our carbon footprint, making us not just carbon neutral but carbon positive. This means we're now contributing to removing more carbon from the atmosphere than we emit.
