Being the change we want to see in the world with 1% for the Planet

In a world where climate change is no longer a distant threat but a looming reality, every initiative aimed at environmental conservation carries immense weight and Dort Studio endeavours to be part of the solution.

The premise of 1% for the Planet is simple, yet impactful. It was created in 2002 by two successful businessmen, who believed organisations should be accountable for their environmental impact. Becoming a member involves committing to donating 1% of annual sales to environmental non-profits. These non-profits are rigorously vetted to ensure that the funds go where they're needed most – whether it's conservation efforts, environmental education, or advocacy campaigns.

Over the years, 1% for the Planet has grown into a global network, with thousands of member companies spanning diverse industries – from outdoor gear manufacturers to food and beverage producers. What unites them is a shared commitment to protecting the planet for future generations. Some Australian companies that have joined the pledge include KeepCup, Pablo & Rusty’s Coffee Roasters and Koala.

But the impact of 1% for the Planet extends far beyond monetary donations. By joining the movement, organisations lead by example, encouraging consumers to prioritise sustainability. This, in turn, can influence purchasing decisions and spur demand for eco-friendly products and practices. Dort Studio is excited and proud to be part of this movement and looks forward to sharing some good news stories with you.
